Newsflash: If you don’t publicly chop your ancestral tree down, then you approve of every shitty thing your family does.

So if your dad steals a toy from someone and gives it to you, you think it’s okay for you to keep it? You think that you’re not wrong for keeping it knowing full well that it was stolen??

There’s a difference between your father doing something and your *seventh-great grandfather* doing something. Like even the most recent Cumberbatch to own slaves before abolition was Benedict’s great-great-great grandfather.

Like seriously stop trying to advocate disliking someone for their shitty ancestors from the 1700s instead of the actual shitty things they have done and said themselves in present day. That’s just pathetic.

Hmmm you seem to still be conveniently ignoring that he inherited wealth from his seventh-great-grandfather with whom he shares a surname… In other words that inheritance was passed from father to son for seven generations…. all of them knowing how that wealth was gained…….. So how is that different………… Hmmm think critically maybe?

not to mention that his mother wanted him to change his name so people didn’t know their history…….
